The Hints menu item has a checkbox which can be used to show or hide hover comments on many of the controls and blocks.

An example of a hint for a motion block is shown here:

Some hints may be verbose enough to fully describe a block or choice. If the information provided is not enough for a block then right clock the block and chose "Help":

This opens up the help system to a page with additional information and related topic links.

Hints are helpful to get oriented but some experienced users find them annoying. Unchecking the hint checkmark prevents the hints from showing.
